The Digital Ring Coating solution is a carbon black, solvent-based Laser Ablative Mask Solution (LAMS) that has a combination of solvents optimized for Ring coating of Flexographic Photopolymer Sleeves. To allow high coverage at low coat weights of the coating, the carbon black chosen is a low particle size, non-migratory pigment. The Ring coating system uses an O-Ring gasket to coat a very uniform, dry coating on the photopolymer sleeves. The solution is optimized to coat approximately 3-4 m of the mask coating, which possesses an optical density (OD) of about 4.0. The solvents are optimized to achieve a very smooth, high gloss surface profile, without having a deleterious affect on the photopolymer (e.g. orange peel, cracking, swelling etc.).
