Worker Safety

Nutre Clean’s high flash points (144oF/62oC), coupled with the fact that all major components are permitted by the FDA and are GRAS (generally recognized as safe) by FEMA, improves worker safety and may reduce insurance underwriting cost by eliminating flammables in the workplace. The very low vapor pressure and evaporative rates insure that only minimal amounts of Nutre Clean become airborne, lowering the light pine aroma in the workplace. As with all strong detergents and cleaners, reasonable care should be exercised with the product’s use.

Environmental Safety

Nutre Clean products contain no ozone depleting substances (ODS), they are not hazardous air pollutants (HAPS), and terpenes are recommended by the Montreal Protocol as a safe alternative for petroleum chemistry worldwide. With water dilution, the amount of cleaner used is reduced by the water factor which further reduces the potential for VOC use in a plant. Nutre Clean T144 UV is not a RCRA hazardous waste in their virgin state and approval to sewer the product has been granted in all municipalities where permission has been requested. They have a persistence rating of zero, meaning they are easily biodegradable and decompose through natural processes.

Nutre Clean products are formulated to be a safe replacement for traditional petroleum printing solvents which may be considered toxic, hazardous, or undesirable for a variety of health or environmental reasons. They are designed to remove cured or moist Ultra Violet inks from blankets, where blankets are cleaned by hand with a rag, and for the removal of these inks from roller trains, metering rollers, impression cylinders, and other web or sheet press areas where ink comes into contact with press components. Nutre Clean T144 UV is designed to replace the hazardous washes that may be effective in working strength, but poss worker and environmental hazardous. Nutre Clean UV is a high performance product when used by directions and is more effective than those products of the past.

Use

Nutre Clean UV is used full strength on blanket and roller applications. Generally roller trains are cleaned with full strength Nutre Clean UV. All areas may be cleaned by dampening a rag - moist but nor dripping - and wiping the surface down. No rinse is required as Nutre Clean is compatible with UV inks. Saleable copy should be produced in five to ten impressions.
