WORKER SAFETY Nutre Clean XP's high flash point (167°F/75°C) coupled with the fact that all major components are permitted by the FDA and are GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) by FEMA, improves worker safety and can reduce insurance underwriting cost by eliminating flammables from the workplace. At operating temperature, the very low vapor pressure and evaporative rates insure that only minimal amounts of Nutre Clean XP become airborne in the workplace. Due to Nutre Clean XP's ability to solubilize photopolymer, the processor
will remain clean for an extended period of time reducing the frequency
of preventative maintenance, operator involvement, and lost production
time. ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY Nutre Clean XP is both workplace and environmentally friendly and is
a plate developing solvent that contains no Hazardous Air Pollutants
(HAPs) or SARA 313 reportables. Furthermore, because it is based on
highly substituted, aromatic, low volatility solvents, which are derived
from the flavor and fragrance industry, Nutre Clean XP is a safe alternative
for the flexographic plate maker. Nutre Clean XP solvent is not only non-hazardous and non-toxic, but
also produces non-hazardous and non-toxic waste. Nutre Clean XP is designed to develop photopolymer plates distributed
throughout the world, with performance rivaling that of perchloroethylene.
It is a proprietary blend of highly substituted, aromatic, low volatility
solvents that are derived from the flavor and fragrance industry. High
solvency (good strength and subsequent cleaning ability) plus the ability
to soil load at extremely high levels, cause far less plate washout
to be used each month; all of which ultimately result in a very cost
effective solvent. USE Nutre Clean XP is designed for use in rotary and in-line plate processing
equipment. In all cases the solvent heaters, required with previous
chemistries, should be disengaged. The fact that Nutre Clean XP requires
no heat causes less solvent to become airborne and therefore improves
the air quality within the work setting. Nutre Clean XP solubilizes
photopolymers and for this reason it is recommended that when converting
from other washout solvents, ALL of the previous chemistry, with the
exception of Nutre Clean FPX, should be drained and the processor thoroughly
cleaned. After cleaning, the processor should be run with Nutre Clean
XP for five to ten cycles to flush out polymers that have built up on
the brushes, in plumbing, and the solvent tank. The rinse cycle should
be lowered to one half the amount of solvent previously used. Vacuum
distilling may be used to recover the washout for additional processing.
Due to the fact that all of Nutre Cleans XP's components share matching
boiling points, no add backs or make up is required for the recovered
